Gilpin Demolition has carried out the demolition of the A3102 bridge in Royal Wootton Bassett, A replacement bridge will be higher, creating the additional space needed for the overhead electrification wires that will power the new fleet of faster, longer, quieter and greener trains on the Great Western route.

Explosives fell portion of bridge that previously refused to budge. Caltrans, ably assisted by Dykon Explosives Demolition Corp, finally took down the fifth span of the old Antlers bridge that didn’t fall during last week’s planned demolition.
