Glasgow collapse – Update

We exclusively reported on the uncontrolled demolition collapse that took place in Glasgow yesterday. Now, more details are beginning to emerge.

The demolition work was being undertaken by National Federation of Demolition Contractors member company, Paisley-based Bardem using a high reach excavator on hire from AW Demolition.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud “crack” just before the building crashed down, spilling debris and dust. Eyewitnesses also told DemolitionNews that a new AW Demolition van was one of two vehicles damaged by falling debris.

DemolitionNews understands that Bardem worked with the fire brigade last night to make the building safe. We also believe that Health and Safety Executive inspectors visited the site earlier today.

DemolitionNews reached out to Bardem but they declined to comment.
