DemolitionNews understands that former DSM Demolition managing director Robin Powell has passed away.
Powell was a popular figure throughout the Midlands demolition industry and was widely respected throughout the industry.
He was chairman of the Midlands and Wales region of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors and played an active role in both the NFDC and the Institute of Demolition Engineers.
Such was his commitment to continuous industry learning, he was among the seven to earn the first ever Masters Degree in Demolition Management back in 2019 (see photo above).
I haven’t seen Robin for several years but my lasting memory of him is from several overseas NFDC conventions where he would enjoy a glass of champagne with his breakfast.
The industry has lost a great demolition man and a true gentleman.
