DemolitionNews understands that that attachment specialist ECY Haulmark has filed for administration. At the same time, Thomas Plant Hire has acquired ECY’s excavator attachment business as part of a pre-pack deal with the administrators that will see 20 ECY jobs retained.
The attachments will be offered through the newly-formed Thomas Attachments company.
ECY Haulmark represented brands like Trevi Benne, Steelwrist, Dynaset and MTB Breakers. Going back even further, the company represented both the Rammer and Furukawa hydraulic breaker brands.
But the company is probably best known for pioneering the OilQuick system here in the UK. In fact, ECY’s Rick Yarwood made such a positive contribution to the UK demolition industry that he was made a fellow of the Institute of Demolition Engineers.
