On Thursday, Communities Secretary Michael Gove handed down a judgement that blocked the planned demolition and replacement of the flagship Marks & Spencer store on London’s Oxford Street.
It was seen as a landmark decision; one that could impact countless demolish and rebuild schemes up and down the country.
Yet, as an industry, we continue to stand idly by while the demolition industry is undermined; while its environmental credentials are overlooked; and while valuable projects are rejected on a whim.
