Australian demolition giant Liberty Industrial is setting up shop in the UK.
The multi-award-winning contractor has a proven track record of tackling exceptionally challenging demolition works. And the company’s arrival potentially represents the biggest shake-up of the UK industry status quo for decades.
Liberty Industrial’s Founding Director, Clinton Dick, said the decision to expand to the United Kingdom builds upon Liberty Industrial’s growing operational presence outside Australia and is representative of strategic plans for further market expansion into Europe.
“Over the past 24-months and despite the impact of Covid, we were lucky to see growth and acceptance into international markets. It made sense for us to open an office in the United Kingdom and leverage our capabilities across the oil & gas, power generation and heavy industrial sectors, particularly as the global marketplace is embracing a new era when it comes to clean energy. We have assembled a strong team in Teesside with a wealth of experience in preparing, planning and delivering complex projects across Europe.
Coinciding with its arrival in the UK, Liberty Industrial has announced the appointment of Steve Andrew as the Global Business Development and Asset Closure Director.
Andrew has been actively involved in the demolition industry for over 40 years, 20 as a contractor and later as a consultant engineer leading the planning, preparation and successful delivery of a significant number of high hazard sites for dismantling for reuse, demolition and land remediation.
Leading the UK division alongside Steve Andrew are industry veterans, Robert Barker who is projects director, Contracts Director Jon Sowerby, and Daniel Breeze (Operations Manager) who between them have more than 70 years of experience in Specialist Decommissioning, Demolition & Remediation, locally and internationally.
