New films demonstrate accuracy of 3D modelling.
When the Safedem team felled the massive Meena Plaza complex in Abu Dhabi a few months ago, the watching world saw a record-breaking blast unfold before their eyes. But the team behind the world’s biggest-ever controlled implosion already knew precisely how the mammoth structure would behave thanks to some incredible 3D modelling ahead of the blast.
The first film (below) shows a side-by-side comparison of what the 3D modelling predicted and how the actual implosion behaved. Even more telling is the second film that overlays the real blast with an animation produced prior to the explosive event.
