A Holiday Inn in Arlington, Northern Virginia was demolished in a controlled explosion yesterday morning to clear the land for a new development.
The implosion brought down the 50-year-old hotel tower and could be heard for miles around. A large dust cloud covered much of the area afterward.
The demolition, which will make way for a new development featuring a 25-storey residential tower and a 38-story hotel tower.
