Brokks complete what explosives couldn’t.
Almost two weeks after an explosive demolition event failed to drop the chimney at the CoGen facility in Milford Haven, the stack is finally down.
DemolitionNews understands that Brokk demolition robots were deployed by breaking specialist Robore after the chimney refused to budge. A photo from the company’s Instagram page (left) shows the fallen chimney.
The second-time-of-asking demolition has been confirmed in a statement from Dragon LNG:
We can confirm that following the incomplete demolition of the Cogen chimney stack on Sunday 20th September, the stack has been safely demolished today – 1st October 2020 at 14:12hrs.
We are working closely with our specialist contractor on the post demolition clean-up operation and will be deploying road sweepers and pressure washers to ensure the surrounding areas are cleaned if required.
