Discussions continue to best way forward with chimney that refused to fall.
It is more than a week since an explosive demolition event failed ton bring down a chimney at the Dragon LNG Cogen facility at Milford Haven in Wales. But there is still no end in sight.
According to a statement on the Dragon LNG website, the stubborn stack has been inspected and is thought to be stable and of no risk.
“The structural stability of the stack and the potential impact of wind has been monitored regularly since Sunday, and initial assessments have shown that the stack is in a stable condition. Work is currently ongoing to identify the safest method to complete the stack demolition, but we do not yet have a defined timeline for completion. An exclusion zone, which is within the Waterston site boundary, will remain in place until the stack is safely demolished.”
More news as we get it.
