One man kiled, another injured in “industrial accident”.
Norfolk Police have confirmed that one man has died and another has been seriously injured following an industrial incident in Great Yarmouth.
Emergency services, including fire and rescue and the air ambulance, were called to the outer harbour site on South Beach Parade yesterday at about 10.50am.
Two men working on the site suffered serious injuries following an incident.
One of the casualties, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other casualty, a man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries and has been taken to the James Paget University Hospital for treatment.
Local news reports suggest that the two men were involved in the dismantling of “gas rigs” on the site. Unfconfirmed reports suggest that the site is operated by waste giant Veolia which acquired demolition firm KDC Contractors in June last year.
