Drone captures fall of coal hopper.
Part of the Georgia Power plant in Milledgeville came down with a bang on Saturday.
The latest blast – the second in two months – took down the facility’s coal hopper. According to local news reports, the power plant has not been functioning for a few years, but from 1965 to 2015, it played a crucial role in keeping the lights on in some Georgia homes.
The latest blast is part of Georgia Power’s plan to dismantle the now-defunct site.
