They were the tallest structures in Essex. But int he space of just 13 seconds, they were erased from the country’s skyline following the latest successful controlled explosion by Brown and Mason.
The 170 metre (558 ft) high chimneys, built in the late 1960s, were at Tilbury Power Station in Essex.
The power station closed in October 2013 and is earmarked for redevelopment.
