Four men still feared missing following collapse of six storey block.
One man was killed, two were injured and four more remain missing feared trapped following the unplanned collapse of a six storey building in Chandivali, Mumbai in India on Saturday.
Chief fire officer P. Rahangdale said that the middle portion of the structure collapsed while other parts of the buildings were intact which was posing difficulty in the rescue operations. “The middle portion of the building collapsed while the other parts are still intact because of which we are facing difficulty in the rescue operations. However, we are trying our best to ensure that everyone trapped in are brought out safe,” added Rahangdale.
Meanwhile Mohammad Shahbul, one of labourers at the spot who escaped unhurt said that he was on the sixth floor when a huge portion in the middle of the structure which they had been demolishing came down crashing. “I came running downstairs and saw parts of the building caving in,” said Shahbul.
