Australian contractor Liberty Industrial has built a global reputation for its industrial demolition capabilities. But the company is no slouch in the environmental department either.
Faced with the removal of a single-span bridge across Duck River with environmentally-protected mangroves at either end, the company devised a complex solution that required placing a 200+ tonne mobile crane onto a barge and then lifting the entire bridge onto the barge during a two-hour high-tide window.
