The “fdunk fdunk fdunk” noise of a hydraulic breaker in operation is one of the most familiar sounds in the demolition industry. It is a sound that speaks of pistons striking steel, and of concrete being torn asunder by sheer the sheer brute force of the hammer’s tool.
Yet that sound is almost entirely missing from this video in which a hydraulic breaker is used – basically – a big pointing stick:
