Dem-Master and Safedem combo completes another text book blast.
A joint venture between Dem-Master and Safedem has pulled off another text book tower block implosion, felling the 24-storey Norfolk Court in Scotland yesterday morning.
Following in the wake of several recent explosive demolition stand-ups, the eyes of the demolition and media worlds were focused on the Gorbals yesterday. But those seeking to vilify the demolition sector for another “botched blast” were to be bitterly disappointed.
Norfolk Court was built in the 1970s and was once home to more than 270 families. Three of four blocks on the site were brought down in the last 10 years with nearly 800 tenants rehoused during that time.
Demolition of the last high rise will allow the £24 million housing development by New Gorbals Housing Association to go ahead.
