One Vision Housing issues statement on protracted demolition.
As the demolition of the second of two Seaforth tower blocks that failed to succumb to a controlled blast enters its third day, the owners of the block – One Vision Housing – have issued an official statement:
The phased demolition of the remaining structure of Montgomery House will begin this week, and the surrounding exclusion zone will be gradually reduced over the coming days.
Residents affected by the exclusion zone will be notified as and when they can return to their homes.
Our staff are working closely with residents to keep them informed of all developments, and ensure they are as comfortable as possible with accommodation, food, drink and other provisions.
J. Bryan (Victoria) Ltd are providing escorted access into the exclusion zone to residents wishing to collect their belongings from their homes.
A 24-hour security team along with a police presence are ensuring that the exclusion zone and properties within it are secure.
