UK prime minister calls in on demolition contractor to talk apprenticeships.
Embattled UK prime minister David Cameron sought refuge last week from the barrage of speculation regarding his family’s tax affair with a visit to the Eynsham offices of Maylarch Environmental.
As part of the government’s pledge to create three million apprenticeships by 2020, Cameron went to see how Maylarch practices its commitment to Apprenticeships and upskilling training.
“We have operated within the IIP (Investors In People) framework since 2005 and follow a training programme designed by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board), which is supported by our membership to The 5% Club. Our apprentices, therefore, have the confidence that they are being trained to the highest level and following the best practices of the industry,” says Maylarch managing director Nick Williamson. “In return, we know we can rely on their professionalism and enthusiasm to execute a great job.”
