Contractor at centre of “wrong house” claim issues apology.
The US demolition contractor caught up in the media swirl surrounding the demolition of the wrong Texas house has issued a statement and an apology to those involved.
“…Billy L. Nabors Demolition has acknowledged and accepted our mistake since the beginning and apologizes for the delay of our statement. We were in contact with both of the owners of the duplex as soon as the incident happened. Our delay was to gather information before making a public statement. Employees on site immediately apologized on behalf of our company. We are devastated that a series of unfortunate events led to this and are deeply sorry. It has been expressed to us that both homeowners have been compensated by their own insurance companies after the duplex was damaged by the tornado and prior to the demolition.
It was never our intent to place blame on anyone during this unsettling situation and are distraught that anyone felt otherwise. We are a fifty-six year strong, Texas based company committed to helping communities develop and grow. We pray that we can continue in our efforts in supporting the victims of the tornado and the volunteers rebuilding Rowlett, as well as the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area…”
