Building collapse kills worker and injures another.
A building being demolished has partially collapsed in the heart of New York City, killing one person.
The fire department said the collapse was reported at a building on West 38th Street in midtown Manhattan.
The fatality was a construction worker and another person was seriously injured.
According to the New York Times, a new hotel is being built at the site of the accident between Fifth Avenue and Avenue of the Americas.
The hotel’s developer, Fortuna Realty Group, said it had not comment to make at this point.
