In the future, demolition workers will be Iron Man.
Picture a world in which a demolition worker looking at a specific task could see detailed information on that task right in front of his or her eyes; a world in which activities were automatically captured and logged for future reference; a world in which toolbox talk printouts, manuals and other printed materials were replaced by an intelligent hard hat capable of storing, delivering and recording information.
Sounds far fetched, right? But that future is a reality now, thanks to the Smart Helmet from DAQRI.
The Google Glass hard hat features a sensor bar across the brow that handles all the tracking and alignment tasks. Real-time, contextual 4D content is viewable on the HD display which is positioned beneath a protective visor. The display’s fully transparent optics allow the content to be read in both low and bright light conditions. According to DAQRI, users can see 4D content through the Smart Helmet display and have the ability to touch and control the interface through integration with devices like smart watches.
