Two two giant smoke stacks that have towered over Scotland’s Cockenzie power station came crashing down in spectacular style a short time ago.
The controlled blast – the latest to be carried out on the site by power station demolition experts Brown and Mason – ensured that the two stacks struck each other on their way down, crushing concrete and providing a suitably spectacular culmination of their working life.
