The “Thunder from Down Under” tackles fuel terminal deconstruction.
Liberty Industrial was engaged by Parsons Brinckerhoff for the demolition and remediation of the former Caltex Townsville Terminal site.
The project involved the decommissioning, demolition and removal of all redundant fuel terminal infrastructure along with the remediation and reinstatement of the site including demolition and removal of ASTs and all associated pipework, all structures on site including buildings, gantry, storage sheds and a rail siding.
We also carried out the decommissioning and in situ abandonment of a former offsite underground fuel transfer pipeline and the remediation of hydrocarbon contaminated soils and groundwater in addition to the removal of all hazardous wastes including the removal of SMF, PCB and asbestos, including the removal of extensive numbers of asbestos gasket materials from pipework.
Huge thanks to our Brit Down Under buddy Dave Wall for sending this over.
