The shuttered Riviera Hotel and Casino could soon be demolished.
The 60-year-old property closed to the public in May after the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority purchased the property for $182.5 million.
On Tuesday, a subcommittee of the LVCVA, the Las Vegas Convention Center District Committee, confirmed that they voted to demolish the property. The subcommittee voted unanimously to recommend to the full board that the property be imploded.
The full board must vote to complete the decision, and at this time a full board meeting has not been scheduled. Once the full board votes to implode the property, a demolition timeline will be released.
