Work starts to remove Montreal overpass.
The demolition of Montreal’s Bonaventure expressway has begun as crews started taking down part of the eastern-most section on Monday.
The roadway will eventually be turned into an urban boulevard.
The Bonaventure coming into Montreal will be lowered to ground level with a green area between the traffic heading in and out of town.
The project was started four years ago and should be completed in 2017.
