The RIAS transmitter tower once served the most powerful medium wave transmitter in the world. Weighing 55 tonnes and standing 160 metres tall, the tower was also one of the tallest structures in Berlin.
But it is no more.
A barely audible blast felled the structure this weekend, bringing to a close another chapter in Berlin’s once troubled history.
