University building falls to high reach power…

Because, hey, who doesn’t love a high reach time-lapse.

Demolition of the John A. Widtsoe Building on the campus of Brigham Young University is underway.

The nine-story building was completed in 1968 and was the home of the College of Life Sciences for several years. Each floor within the building housed a specific area of study. The building included classrooms, laboratories, and 15 live aquariums that lined several of the hallways.

The university dedicated a new Life Sciences Building on April 9, a building with 265,000 square feet of space, 81 teaching and research laboratories, and more dedicated to teaching about the life sciences — biology, health science, microbiology and molecular biology, physiology and developmental biology, and plant and wildlife sciences.
