Group training manager and Federation CEO-in-waiting quits.
DemolitionNews understands that Sophie Cox, group training manager of the National Demolition Training Group and regional secretary for all five regions of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors has resigned.
Cox (nee Francis) had enjoyed a meteoric rise through the NFDC/NDTG ranks during her time at the combined Hemel Hempstead headquarters. Indeed, many suggested that she was earmarked to replace Howard Button when the industry veteran CEO finally hung up his hard hat.
Her departure appears to have come as a major shock, particularly since she was recently appointed to replace the five secretaries in the Federation’s regions.
DemolitionNews understands that a brief statement has been issued to NFDC members this evening.
Although they are unconnected, the departure of Cox is the latest in a catalogue of high-profile women to find themselves at the Federation exit. Christine Macfarlane, a previous chief executive, left in acrimonious terms, and former accounts head Diane Brace was to follow suit.
