Mall demolition captured by Google Glass.
We have all charted the rise and rise of the demolition video from early camcorders to time-lapse, mobile phone footage to GoPro films. But here, quite possibly, is a world first – Demolition shot by Google Glass.
The Google Glass system effectively puts a huge amount of computing power into a pair of glasses, providing the wearer with a heads-up display of incoming messages, augmented reality visuals, and even the ability to take photos and shoot video with nothing but a gesture.
As far as we know, this is the first time this has been used to shoot demolition footage and, admittedly, the content of the film is not great. But just imagine this inconspicuous power in the hands of a safety inspector or a site auditor. Big Brother will be watching…and he’ll be wearing glasses!
