Work underway at former London children’s hospital in Tower Hamlets.
A former children’s hospital in the East End of London is undergoing complete regeneration to provide a sizeable number of new homes with the initial demolition works currently being undertaken by Downwell Demolition.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children in Tower Hamlets was originally formed from the merger of two separate children’s hospitals – one in Bethnal Green and another in Shadwell – during World War II.
The new hospital was established in a building on Goldsmiths Row which had originally been constructed as a Dispensary for Women and Children in 1870.
