Work underway on demolition that will clear the way for new Ikea store.
Work has started on demolishing Homebase and Carpetright to make way for the new IKEA store in Calcot.
Hughes & Salvidge excavators are on site in Pincents Lane flattening the buildings in Berkshire Retail Park to make way for the Swedish retail giant, but there is no opening date yet.
Roger Cooper, IKEA Calcot Reading Project Manager said: “The previous tenants vacated the site at the end of January 2014 and we recently started to dismantle these superstructures, which is proceeding to plan.
