Sunday blast levels Aston University tower.
Just a short time ago, Birmingham echoed to the sound of an explosive demolition that felled the 23-storey Stafford Tower; the last remaining campus tower at Aston University.
The work was carried out by DSM Demolition Group (which is hopefully supplying more detailed footage later today) with the help of explosive engineer John Faulkner.
DSM reports that the blast was 11 months in the planning and dropped 11,000 tonnes of debris with no collateral damage:
