The former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson coined the phrase “squeaky bum time”; that period of brief but overwhelming panic that separates the good from the great.
There was more than a hint of squeaky bum time in the explosive demolition of a concrete silo in Sugar City.
The charges went off as planned and gravity started to do that thing that gravity does. And then there was a momentary hesitation in the descent of the type that makes explosive engineer butt clench.
