Investigation underway after beam falls “out of sequence”.
Demolition work at the Metrodome site stopped Monday after a beam fell unexpectedly.
Nobody was hurt and no equipment was damaged, according to construction manager Mortenson Construction.
According to a statement from Mortenson senior vice president John Wood, crews from subcontractor Frattalone were working on demolishing a section of beam on the northeast part of the Dome around 1 p.m. when an adjacent beam piece “came down out of sequence.”
All work stopped immediately while engineers and contractors investigated the site.
