South Caroline residents make ready for big bang.
The housing authority held a meeting to talk about the demolition of Greenville’s Scott Towers on Wednesday evening.
The Towers were once a living community along Augusta Road but closed in March. Reports showed the building needed more than $12 million in repairs.
Everyone at the meeting agreed it was best to tear down the Towers rather than to remodel.
The demolition date is set for Sunday, Jan. 19. During the meeting on Wednesday, the Housing Authority and Greenville Fire Department discussed safety preparations.
