Demolition professionals sought to help in post-typhoon clean-up.
With about 1.5 million homes destroyed, the amount of debris that resulted from the recent Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines is in the millions of cubic metres; and now the task is to clear it up whilst looking for ways to reuse and recycle it.
The majority of the debris is timber, building materials, fallen trees, mud and damaged infrastructure.
If you are interested in being part of this clean-up job and can bring demolition waste skills to the programme then please get in touch with Martin Bjerregaard at Disaster Waste Recovery (martin@disasterwaste.org).
There are several positions from January 2014, ideally for 6 months duration and you will get a base salary with all costs/travel covered. For further information about Disaster Waste Recovery please visit www.disasterwaste.org.
