Demolition crews take out a pair of iconic amusement park rides.
In an ideal world, demolition would be reserved primarily for things like tax offices, call centres and – perhaps – the Emirates Stadium. But we don’t live in an ideal world, and sometimes we’re forced to destroy the fun stuff like pubs and amusement parks.
Case in point is a pair of new videos from the US: one showing the explosive demolition of the Wildcatter ride at the Six Flags park in Arlington, Texas; the other showing the mechanical demolition and salvage of the New Jersey rollercoaster that had become a symbol of the havoc wreaked by Superstorm Sandy.
