AGM marks midway point of Steve Jack’s presidency.
As Tory ministers today discovered to their cost and embarrassment, recordings of speeches do not disappear; they lurk in the dark recesses of the Internet just waiting to bite you in the rear.
On Friday this week, the members of the IDE will gather at Altitude 360 in London for an AGM that marks the halfway point of Jack’s presidency. So what better time to look back at the exclusive video that he recorded with us exactly one year ago?
It has been a year of highs and lows for the IDE. No sooner had Jack taken over the hot seat than then national secretary Valerie Stroud left unexpectedly before being replaced by Maureen Tong-Ralphs. Then came the high of the DemoExpo.
And so, as the IDE prepares to gather, it is worthwhile reviewing Jack’s hopes and aspirations: his desire to maintain and increase the Institute’s professional standing; his pursuit of CPD; his call for more regional meetings; the encouragement of overseas membership; and the introduction of the shared support scheme to help increase membership levels.
