Third fatality in a week as worker is crushed by falling chimney.
A worker who suffered critical injuries when a chimney fell on him at a site on the Texas Christian University campus during the weekend died early Sunday, officials have said.
The victim was identified as Sebastian Sanchez, 30, of Fort Worth. He was pronounced dead at 1:38 a.m. Sunday at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
He suffered injuries to his chest and abdomen and his death was ruled an accident, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.
The accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the site at 3014 Lubbock Ave.
Sanchez was part of a crew that apparently was demolishing a house on campus property, officials said.
