Video – Dykon pulls off bold blast…

With barely room to swing a cat, Dykon drops Schwind Building.

More than 50 people witnessed the Schwind Building coming down in Dayton on Saturday morning.

According to the project manager Scott Wells with Steve Rauch Incorporated the entire operation went extremely smoothly.

“I expected a lot more debris out in the street. We knew there was going to be a lot of dust, but for the most part it fell where it was suppose to fall and there was very little debris out in the street,” Wells said.

The only damage to other buildings was a small six inch hole to the Dayton Grand Hotel; hardly surprising given the lack of room into which the building had to be dropped.

The building was torn down to make way for a $22 million development to house Sinclair Community College students.
