$60,000 in fines and the clock’s still ticking.
All parties involved in the demolition of the Bellaire Bridge had a telephone conference Tuesday with a federal judge.
A number of people were in on the conversation, including Benwood’s police chief, two attorneys representing the city of Benwood, representatives and attorneys for Delta Demolition and lawyers for Norfolk Southern.
During the conversation, the federal judge expressed that he was disappointed the owners of Delta Demolition have missed their bond deadline and have yet to pay a $1,000 daily fine since they have not submitted the cash security bond to the city.
As of Tuesday, Delta Demolition owes $60,000 in fines.
The judge said the owner could be sent to prison if those debts are not paid.
