As 16 July blast day approaches, video looks back at history of Port Everglades power station.
On 16 July, Florida Power and Light (FPL) will tear down its Port Everglades power plant and in its place, build a new, more fuel efficient plant that runs on clean, low-cost American natural gas.
The plant was built in the 1960s to reliably deliver power to South Florida’s growing communities. Now, after more than 50 years of operation, it’s time for a new era with cleaner, more fuel-efficient power.
