Calling all operators – There’s a baseball cap here with your name on it.
Up until a visit to the Caterpillar factory at Desford a few weeks back, it had been about 15 years since I last drove an item of construction equipment in anger. In my formative years as a plant journalist, I proudly held the record for having rolled machines in three different countries. And, after the last incident, decided to live my life by the “those that can do, those that can’t write about it” code.
And so when I tore open today’s post and found a very smart Volvo baseball cap bearing the “Operator’s Club” insignia, I was reminded that I am not worthy.
So I am giving away my hat and the window stickers that accompanied it to the first person that can correctly answer this simple question:
