Follow the NFDC’s 2012 Annual Convention “live” via our dedicated website.
Despite the advent of highly advanced and sophisticated communications technology that allow us to cover the four corners of the globe from an armchair in leafy Surrey, reporting live from an overseas location remains notoriously and infuriatingly difficult. Sketchy or non-existent broadband connections, exorbitant wi-fi charges and an inability to write after one too many drinks at the bar are just some of the challenges facing the roving reporter.
But, as we head off (tomorrow, just after dawn) to Madeira for the 2012 Annual Convention of the UK’s National Federation of Demolition Contractors, we’re going to attempt to beam back as much news, views and as many photos as the island’s Internet will allow via a one-off and dedicated website.
Not only will this prevent the whole of DemolitionNews becoming cluttered with too many photos of Madeira’s beautiful scenery, it should also allow us to broadcast almost live from the event’s Half Yearly Business Meeting.
The new website will probably only last for about a week (unless anyone wants it to stay up) but if you’re not going to the NFDC Convention and would like to know what’s happening, or if you are going and want to make sure there are no photos of you posing in your Speedos, please check out the website here (please note, it’s nothing but a holding page at present – The content will begin to flow tomorrow when our journey begins).
