Anglers required to compete for first-ever DemolitionNews Tight Lines trophy.
DemolitionNews’ Mark Anthony and IDE President John Woodward share much in common, besides their love of all things demolition. Both support mediocre football teams and each has an “interesting” taste in shirts and ties. Besides this, they also share a love of fishing.
Which is why DemolitionNews has agreed to put up a trophy at the forthcoming Institute of Demolition Engineers’ Fishing Day at Furnace Pool on 3 October. This will be the first time that demolition loving anglers can compete for the Demolition News Tight Lines trophy but we are sincerely hoping that it will continue long after Woodward’s illustrious presidency is over.
The day will begin with a full English breakfast at 8.30 with draw for pegs at 9.00. The match will commence at 10.00 and will finish at 15.30. Following the weigh in a buffet will be served at the clubhouse and prizes distributed.
In addition to the Tight Lines trophy, prizes will be given for first, second and third places with a special prize for heaviest fish caught on the day.
Full details and a booking form can be found at www.ide.org.uk and I would urge you to book quickly as at the price of £40.00 a ticket they will sell out fast and a maximum of 30 anglers can take part.
