98-year-old Paper Mill demolished in weekend implosion.
A familiar Fife landmark comes crashing down almost a century after being built.
The towering chimneys of the derelict Caldwell’s Paper Mill in Inverkeithing were blown up yesterday morning as dozens of locals looked on from a distance.
Built in 1914, the mill had four paper machines and was called Caldwell & Co Papermakers.
In 1928, the factory was bought by the company Inveresk, who were eventually bought out by Scandinavian firm Klippan in 2002.
