Video – St Ann’s tower crumbles in implosion…

Two-camera view of yesterday’s dramatic Irondequoit blast.

Aside from the dust and debris, the imploded St. Ann Community’s Heritage Tower is now a thing of the past.

Just as planned, the 19-story circular housing structure across the street from Rochester General fell to the ground at 10 a.m. Saturday. Controlled Demolition Inc (CDI) executed the operation.

The implosion of the 39-year-old building was part of St. Ann Community’s two-year construction project, which included two new buildings: The Wegman Transitional Care Center and the Leo Center for Caring, a hospice facility. St. Ann’s center on the Cherry Ridge campus in Webster houses nursing and transitional care services.
