Ormond Memorial facility to fall on same day as Grand Palace hotel.
Implosion fans – and believe me, there are many – will need access to a private jet or a time machine on 22 July if they want to catch the action of two high profile blasts.
On the same day (22 July) that the Grand Palace Hotel is scheduled to fall in New Orleans, the Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial will also be brought down in a controlled explosion.
The hospital, which has been empty for some time, is scheduled to fall at 07.30 am local time. It is currently costing the city more than $800,000 to maintain.
That puts “a drain on critical resources needed to provide quality care to the community,” Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center said in a statement today.
