Landmark Massey Ferguson tower to be felled in controlled explosion.
A 16-storey tower that once loomed over the Massey Ferguson factory in Coventry will be felled this weekend in a controlled explosion.
The 16-storey tower, off Banner Lane, was officially opened on 21 September 1966 and until recently was used as offices for AGCO – who bought Massey Ferguson in 1994.
The empty tower is the only part of the old Massey Ferguson site that remains. The old tower block will be replaced by a primary school.
Coventry City Council is planning to broadcast the blast live. Readers can view the live stream here between 10 am and 12 pm on Sunday.
